NorthStar Memorial Group (www.nsmg.com) is seeking a Cemetery Caretaker Superintendent for our Skylawn (www.skylawnmemorialpark.com) location in San Mateo, California.

 

The Cemetery Caretaker Superintendent is responsible for the overall physical appearance and condition of all property to which he/she is assigned. The ideal candidate will understand and make decisions with the end goal in mind: that we are all here to work together to create a seamless ceremony to celebrate a life lived. The ideal candidate will also be bilingual, have strong experience with unions, and an in-depth knowledge of irrigation. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

 

Things you need to know/be able to do in order to succeed:

  1. Able to fill any role required in the grounds keeping/facilities maintenance function.
  2. Ensure that all interment verification procedures (IVP) are taught, learned, inspected and adhered to.
  3. Verifies that the locations of all interments, entombments or inurnments are accurate.
  4. Works with the General Manager regarding disciplinary action and terminations for grounds staff. 
  5. In consultation with General Manager, Office Manager, Funeral staff, Sales Manager and others, schedules and delegates work assignments to meet client family wishes.
  6. Ensure that all members of the caretaker team observe Federal (OSHA), state and local safety requirements for themselves and visitors to the cemetery.
  7. Maintains a safe working environment by training the staff in proper techniques and use of safety equipment.
  8. Strong experience with unions.
  9. In-depth knowledge of irrigation.
  10. Pesticide License (strongly preferred).

 

Basic Traits and Skills needed to be effective:

  1. Bilingual (strongly preferred).
  2. Strong leadership skills. 
  3. Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Responsible for the day to day operations of Bliley’s-Staples Mill location and provide direction, coordination and supervision of full- time and part-time Associates.

  • Manage and implement facility level operating and capital budgets, and following up on all past due account receivables.
  • Promote Bliley’s in the community through active participation in a community service organization as well as additional partnerships throughout the community.
  • Need to be an effective coach to staff, provide feedback to Associates, reinforce training initiatives, and hold staff accountable to performance expectations.
  • Candidate must be able to manage to objective, measurable goals and standards for customer service and financial performance.

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ Years total work experience;
  • Licensed Funeral Director;
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent management organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of FTC, OSHA, and State regulations of Funeral Service;
  • Knowledge of crematory & cremation regulations;
  • Participation in a community service organization

 


Education:

  • Degree in Business Management preferred but not required
  • Associates Degree in Funeral Service Education

The Board of Directors of Cave Hill Cemetery seeks a dynamic new President with strong leadership, management, client service and external relations skills to lead and grow this nationally renowned historic cemetery and arboretum.  Cave Hill Cemetery is a 300-acre Victorian-era non-profit cemetery and arboretum, chartered in 1848 and governed since then by a community Board of Directors.  The Cemetery has over 130,000 interments and new construction in the past 14 years has added over 1,500 new cremation niches and over 200 new crypts. Cave Hill has a budget of $4.8 million, a full-time staff of more than 40 employees and is one of the nation’s most financially stable nonprofit cemeteries.  The next President will bring demonstrated leadership and experience in cemetery, funeral service or related industry management.  However, individuals from other comparable venues (i.e., historic properties, elder care, parks or arboretums, etc.) also will be given consideration, providing they possess the requisite skill base to manage a highly experienced team of cemetery professionals. NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking a Location Manager in Houston, TX area for our San Jacinto Location.  The Location Manager leads funeral home(s) operations. Location Managers select, train, and motivate location staff to assure delivery of service is above and beyond client expectations. Responsible for achieving the location’s annual case volume and revenue goals as well as ensuring such growth measures are profitable (i.e., managing expenses). Location Managers should approach the daily conduct of their operation as if they were the owners of an independent business. The Company provides support and oversight but relies on Location Managers to direct their activities toward marketing, community involvement, and quality assurance, while ensuring operating practices comply with appropriate national, state, and local regulations as well as Company policies.

Each location’s staffing level reflects business demand. At lower volume locations, the Chapel Location Manager would devote a high percentage of their workday serving client families. In higher volume locations with larger staff, the Chapel Location Manager would spend more time leading and managing staff activities. Case volume is a function of a location’s size and complexity of business. If ship-outs and direct cremations represent a significant portion of a location’s case volume, then traditional ratios of staffing to case volume become highly elastic and subjective. Bronze Stone Group, a family owned and operated company in Southeastern Wisconsin, currently has a full-time position for a Regional Sales Manager and are seeking an energetic, service minded individual who enjoys helping others to provide our clients with motivation and support in a positive and professional work environment.  This position provides leadership and support to the Family Service Counselor’s, and is responsible for marketing and sales activities within their region.

Responsibilities:

·   Motivate and coach FSC’s regarding customer service, prospecting, product knowledge, sales presentation, pricing, and paperwork.

·   Integrate pre-need and at-need sales activities to provide customers with seamless service.

·   Recruit, hire and retain a professional sales force utilizing all corporate resources and modeling corporate values.

·   Implement and maintain consistent application of policy and procedure.

·   Ensure consistent adherence to policies and accurate record keeping.

·   Evaluate and manage the operational and financial performance of all locations within the region.

·   Other duties as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in business startup, day–day management
  • Implement sales and marketing program, grave marking / location system, recordkeeping of contracts and burials
  • Develop positive relationships with funeral professionals & community
  • Manage all burials
  • Work with Director to harmonize all programs – both burial and non-burial
