The Sales Manager for this location will be responsibile for managing a team of Family Service and Community Service Counselors. NorthStar pays base overrides of 5% on pre-need cemetery sales, plus a graduated override and no cap on earnings. Further, sales managers at NorthStar are allowed to make personal sales and receive both commission and override!! We have a no gimmick compensation plan designed to reward talented and hard working professionals with the highest income in the profession.

Requirements for the position:

•    Ability to train sales team in all inventory, contracts, sales, negotiating and closings skills.
•    In the field, lead by example efforts to demonstrate your knowledge of successful prospecting, selling and closing techniques.
•    Be an effective public speaker comfortable presenting in seminar settings and private in-home presentations
•    Work to build positive relationships within the community
•    Be willing to relocate to the Nashville area
•    Have at least three years experience in running a large combination (400+ annual interments and/or funeral services)

The General Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations of the cemetery and mortuary.  This position supervises the Cemetery Foreman, On-Duty Family Service Counselors/Sales Counselors, Front Office Staff, Funeral Associates, and Funeral Director/Embalmers; oversees the scheduling of burials and funerals, monitors all cemetery and funeral contracts, monitors the maintenance of all buildings and equipment, develops on-going training for staff; and assists in the development of new sections and products.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:  Demonstrate leadership skills; must be emotionally able to deal with death, grief, and stress; must exhibit excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; thorough understanding of cemetery and funeral regulations and laws; basic understanding of both non-commission and commission sales; ability to dress professionally (in suits or other appropriate attire); ability to work under pressure, take initiative, be creative and anticipate solutions to problems; exercise good judgment in emergency situations and when working with varied personalities and cultures; must be able to work with frequent interruptions; must have a valid Arizona driver’s license with an insurable driving record; and must have the ability to obtain a mortuary license in the future.
 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution; five years’ experience in a supervisory or management capacity within the death care industry; practicing Roman Catholic preferred; and Licensed Funeral Director preferred but not mandatory.
