The Cemetery Caretaker Superintendent is responsible for the overall physical appearance and condition of all property to which he/she is assigned. The ideal candidate will understand and make decisions with the end goal in mind: that we are all here to work together to create a seamless ceremony to celebrate a life lived. The ideal candidate will also be bilingual, have strong experience with unions, and an in-depth knowledge of irrigation. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

 

Things you need to know/be able to do in order to succeed:

  1. Able to fill any role required in the grounds keeping/facilities maintenance function.
  2. Ensure that all interment verification procedures (IVP) are taught, learned, inspected and adhered to.
  3. Verifies that the locations of all interments, entombments or inurnments are accurate.
  4. Works with the General Manager regarding disciplinary action and terminations for grounds staff. 
  5. In consultation with General Manager, Office Manager, Funeral staff, Sales Manager and others, schedules and delegates work assignments to meet client family wishes.
  6. Ensure that all members of the caretaker team observe Federal (OSHA), state and local safety requirements for themselves and visitors to the cemetery.
  7. Maintains a safe working environment by training the staff in proper techniques and use of safety equipment.
  8. Strong experience with unions.
  9. In-depth knowledge of irrigation.
  10. Pesticide License (strongly preferred).

 

Basic Traits and Skills needed to be effective:

  1. Bilingual (strongly preferred).
  2. Strong leadership skills. 
  3. Ability to communicate effectively.

Job Description:

A funeral director reports to the Chapel Location Manager in their market and provides professional service to client families before, during and after the loss of a loved one. The duties of the funeral director entail all phases of the funeral industry from the removal of the deceased from the place of death, preparation of the body, and arrangement conference, to serving the family on the service and final disposition; also to continue the relationship built even after the services are complete.  Funeral Directors should be a source of support, guidance and direction for families uncertain about the vast range of service, celebration and memorialization choices available from the location. A funeral director should always understand that a client family may know what they do not want, but may also be unsure of what they do want.  The funeral director should have a working knowledge to be able to offer service and merchandise choices that enhance the overall service, and company performance.  The funeral director is directly responsible for the funeral home operating in a profitable and competitive manner.

The Sales Manager’s responsibilities will include the following:

•Conduct and assist in the Weekly Sales Meeting

•Work in the Field with the Sales Team
•Traveling locally is required

Requirements and Qualifications:

•Minimum of 5-7 years of work experience as a Sales Manager
•Basic computer and technology skills required
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
•Excellent understanding of the selling process
•Time management and organizational skills
•Proven Sales Team leadership in a quota-driven environment
•Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to work in a team environment
•Creative and detail-oriented
•Service industry experience preferred
