Amazingly, some still object

People like Justin Zabor and Mark Krause have it exactly right. It amazes me constantly how many funeral directors violently oppose even the concept - and actively denigrate their competitors for offering catering services.

Remember, funeral homes used to be called funeral parlors. Why? Because they were replicating the tradition of a home "wake" which of course included food and drink, when it WAS in the home. Funeral parlors were meant to make funerals easier for families. Somehow it didn't all translate, obviously.

Those funeral directors who consider themselves more "tradionalist" than those who do offer these modern conveniences should do a fact-check: how could offering catering services be MORE traditional? I mean, really?
