Welcome from the Chancellor
Dear Colleague,
Advertising guru Bruce Barton once said, "When you are through changing, you are through."
ICCFA University has a reputation for adapting to meet the cemetery and funeral service profession’s ever-changing needs, and the 2007 session will uphold that reputation as we introduce a groundbreaking certification program as part of our College of Cremation Services.
This year’s session of ICCFA University is our first under the association’s new name – the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association. The newly added "C" not only reflects the shifting landscape of our profession but signals a commitment to improve cremation education and practices. Nowhere will this commitment be more evident than at ICCFA University. Led by Dean Ernie Heffner, the College of Cremation Services offers three certifications within one program, providing the most comprehensive education available in cremation operations, administration and sales. Please check out the enclosed brochure for the College of Cremation Services and make plans to attend and to send your staff for this one-of-a-kind training.
Our entire curriculum continues to evolve and grow, and in 2007, we have a number of new faculty and sessions in addition to some timeless favorites. Deans Jeff Kidwiler, Gary O’Sullivan, Katherine Scimmi and Todd Van Beck have put together phenomenal programs for each of their colleges.
If you’ve been to ICCFA University before, you know the educational and networking value this five-day event offers. If not, I invite you to read the testimonials below and plan to become a part of our ICCFAU family this summer.
Whether you are new or a returning student, I can promise you one thing: Attending ICCFA University will challenge you to change in some way. And yes, that can be scary – until you consider the alternative.
-- Michael Burke
