Magic Moment
Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Park
Seattle, Washington
To help ease the discomfort of families, Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Park named their visitation rooms after flowers and had glass nameplates made for each room. They place the name of the deceased on the door by creating a label on transparent tape with white letters. The label is then applied to the back of the nameplate and appears to be part of the glass at the time of the visitation.

The KIP judges had the following to say about this entry:
- A nice simple way to avoid embarrassment and alleviate discomfort for the family. Sometimes small, simple efforts can make a big difference. This is one of those things that family and friends may not appreciate at the time - until they attend another visitation that does not make it so easy.
- This is a nice personalization detail - really makes the visitation about the person.
- This magic moment has two successful elements - both of which ease the visit. The sign looks great and the names of the rooms are a nice touch.
- This is a thoughtful touch, but something I would think would be standard. Very efficient use of resources in the classiest kind of labels.
