Zoey the therapy dog featured in USA Today
Zoey Dwyer's business card, front and back. How could you not want her at your visitation?
Kelly Dwyer, president of Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock, Michigan, and Zoey, the Dwyers' golden retriever who doubles as family pet and grief therapy dog, were featured recently in the "Pet talk" column in USA Today. The column describes Zoey's work at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, owned by Kelly's husband, Dan, and includes a photo of Zoey in her work uniform, a red vest.
While relatives and friends struggle with what to say to the bereaved at visitations, Zoey never says the wrong thing; she simply offers love and a soft head to pat. As you can see by the business card above, the Dwyers know something about marketing, and Zoey is a beautiful dog. Look at those eyes! (Derek the grief therapy dog at John Flynn Funeral Home, Hermitage, Pennsylvania, also a golden retriever, is rumored to be interested in a date.)
